Question: is that 30 minutes per part or 30 minutes in total? So, if I produced a beat and wrote lyrics for it, would I have an hour or still just 30 minutes?
I say challenge yourself. The quicker you make the song, the more swag u gotta put in it to pull it off, cuz u gotta turn ur brain off and just GO FOR IT. For instance - I'm makin my own beat, and I'm givin myself exactly 30 minutes for BOTH processes from start to finish, no excuses. Meaning 30 minutes total including lyrics AND beat, not an hour total. SWAG.
The rules would give you an hour, but I bet you could make a better song if you crunched the whole process into 30 minutes.
