No way I'm wasting my front page post on this, but it needs to be said.
In the middle of promoting myself on the site, I got a msg back from an animator saying I shouldn't be "asking for ad revenue," that I should just be "looking for exposure."
You're kidding me, right?
First of all, you're not Walt Disney. Second, what exposure? LMAO
Yet I see voiceover artists running around like puppies looking for scraps. I hope that if you're good, you're getting a piece of the ad revenue.
[NOTE: Some animators can't even tell the difference between ad revenue and an upfront payment.
AD REVENUE is what NG pays you from ads. Unscrupulous animators set this to 0% for you and make you think they are giving you some kind of "exposure." It is not paid upfront, so don't worry - I'm not asking you to rob your mom's purse to pay for my services, broke ass.]
The NG ToS says that it "frowns upon" setting a collaborator's ad revenue portion to 0.
So to all the bigheaded animators, fuck you. Not speaking to all animators, just the few that share the viewpoint of the idiot who msgd me.
And to the puppy dog VO's, get your shit together. Don't sell your talent short for a couple of hits, especially from animators that have an attitude problem and delusions of grandeur.
"Looking for exposure"? LMAO OMG Move out of your mom's basement before you talk shit like that, hobo.
ThatsExtremeMan
So who are you talking about, exactly?
Poniiboi (Updated )
Pretty clearly stated in the rant above. Names don't matter. Attitudes do, so don't try to personalize this. I'm against the attitude, because the person is completely irrelevant.
