Holy crap.

Listened to with headphones on and headphones off to simulate a movie theatre and a relaxation tape, LOL.

Ok. So I feel as if this track would work quite well as background in short bursts in a movie theatre, and longer over headphones. It seems to be going for an ominous melodic but horrific tone. It would work well during the downtime in a horror movie, like during the point at which the hero was walking through the dark forest.

In the headphones it had less resonance, and I'll tell you why. It was mostly because there was not much movement in the lower EQ spectrum. I feel, with tracks like this, and feel free to contradict me, that the changes are mostly in timbre, not in key, or rhythm. The EQ counts for a lot then.

I felt as though there was a lot of movement in the lower mid range spectrum, but there could have been more in the low range (like 250-500 hz), if you wanted the track to be more dynamic. If you don't, then this is perfect. 5 stars. I don't know what you were going for. It's all about the point of the track's usage.

What I will say is that I was not bored at any point during the entire 4 minutes. It's kind of like Daft Punk, where you know loops are going on but somehow they change just enuff to keep your ears interested. So great job there. Very subtle changes kept the interest going.

I guess that's all. I would be able to give a better review if this track were placed in a perspective, say a horror movie or on a relaxation tape, you know? It's all about usage.

But ok, that's what I got. Holla!

Thanks for the review! Usually I'll want more movement (if you want a more progressive ambient example, see my track "Dystopia" as the tension builds to ), but this track in particular is just portraying one unchanging idea and feeling. That's why I chose the word "drifting."

Obsideo wins because of the outro. Fatality.

HDC responds:

Obsideo 1, Senator 0.. lol.. YEA GURL!!

Sweet. Just sweet.

BOULLIE responds:

Dig.

I'd resample those samples cuz they were a little tinny, but the choice was good.

BOULLIE responds:

Thanks Duke.

Excellent sample choice. Really chill but somehow hyper a little bit.

zekee responds:
